The Health Benefits Of Having A Water Cooler In Your Office
When your tap water isn't tasty, or is rarely cold, there's nothing like a mains-fed water cooler or a bottleless water cooler to provide nature's best cold beverage this summer. Having healthy and tasty chilled water readily to hand is an important way to make sure people get all the fresh water that's advised for health, reports the UK’s leading vending machine supplier, Kafévend.
About 75% of our bodies are made up of water – but we lose around 4 pints of fluid a day. Doctors recommend 8 glasses of water every day to replace this fluid and keep us in great condition so that, properly hydrated, we feel more alive, have more energy and can concentrate better on the task at hand – which helps to increase our productivity.
In the office, a water cooler is a benefit employees expect in order to have cold drinking water ready to hand. Water cooler dispensers that provide hot water for making instant beverages and soups are also considered a benefit by many employees. A Water cooler dispenser can also be used for making powdered drinks, and have additional spigots and heaters for dispensing hot water for making tea, soup, instant coffee or cocoa. These machines also save on the water bill in areas where you need to run the tap for a while to get the water cold enough to drink and be refreshed.
A Kafévend spokesperson said: “Hydration is an important key to personal health. Many health issues, from headaches to fatigue to susceptibility to illness, are often the result of dehydration. Pure water is a much better source of hydration than flavored beverages or soft drinks that all too many of us in modern societies consume”.
Kafévend supplies a range of coffee vending machines and snack machines, filled with brand-leading drinks including Nescafe, Kenco, PG Tips, Starburst, Suchard chocolate and Knorr soups which they can have installed in your office within a week.
Supplying over 4500 companies from Crawley to Leeds, Kafévend take the worry out of having a vending machine with its simple to use application. If anything should go wrong, they will have an engineer to you on average within 3½ hours. If on the rare occasion the problem can not be resolved, another machine will be brought in to replace it.

Vending machine drinks & supplies:
These days it simply isn’t enough to offer your employees and customers a cup of nameless coffee, a watery brew of tasteless tea or a lukewarm glass of finest tap! Our palates have been educated to enjoy fresh ground Columbian, Decaf English Breakfast and crystal clear chilled water. Quite simply, offering quality drinks shows your staff and clients that you care about them.
With Kafevend you have the world’s favourite drinks brands to choose from…all you have to do is decide which you’d like to provide: in the open plan office area or on the workshop floor you might choose PG Tips, Gold Blend Rich Dark Roast, Galaxy Hot Chocolate, Nescafe Cappuccino, Knorr Minestrone, Starburst Orange and Brita filtered water.

The Flavia Brighter Tomorrow programme
Coffee is one of the world’s largest traded commodities and is one of the most important exports for many developing countries. It is one of the few international traded commodities that are still mainly produced on smallholder farms rather than large-scale plantations. About 70% of the world’s coffee is grown on farms of less than 10 hectares, and today there are an estimated 25 million farmers growing coffee in approximately 50 countries.

Kafevend Provides a Way to Treat Staff without Breaking the Bank
Keeping your staff refreshed and vitalised is not necessarily an employer’s responsibility but when you take into account dehydrated people perform slower, have reduced concentration and are generally less efficient, having a vending machine to hand can actually be a cost-effective exercise for most companies.
If you factor into this that when people feel appreciated they also work harder, incentives such as offering free beverages can often help to maximise output. The Kenco Cashless Card system, available with the Kenco K Bar 16 from Kafévend, is one such solution that also allows you to keep a strict eye on the budget.
By simply inserting the card into the hot drinks machine and putting in the money, the card charges it with ‘virtual’ cash up to £5. It can be programmed to allow for only a certain amount of free or subsidised drinks per day, offering a convenient way for employers to provide their team with a pre-determined number of refreshments. The card is re-loadable and guaranteed for 100,000 vends.
This system is operational in the Kenco K Bar 16 which has a sleek, contemporary finish designed to seamlessly blend into any office environment. Easy to use, this hot drinks machine has touch sensitive buttons, boasts 16 different selections and is fully automatic. With a capacity of 1200 branded quality drinks, it makes for an ideal addition in any busy location of 35 people or over.
If you order through Kafévend they can have it to you within a week and provide an excellent follow-up service with a call out time of an average 3½ hours, should there be any problems. On the rare occasion their engineer can not fix the vending machine right away, a replacement will be sent straight out to you.
Suppliers to over 6000 companies from Crawley to Leeds, they offer a wide range of equipment, including snack machines, which serve brand-leading treats from Nescafe to Knorr soups. Their commitment to Fairtrade means they also provide ethical alternatives should they be required.

Put a Pep in their Step
You know your employees are doing their best but the afternoon lull often sees them feeling a little lethargic. There is something you we can do to help though. Kafévend knows that by strategically placing one of their hot drinks machines, water machines or snack vending machines within any office environment you will ensure your workforce remains alert throughout the day.
With busy work schedules and essential deadlines to meet, people don’t often take care of themselves as they should and will often ignore the signs of hunger and thirst to get the job done. This can be cost ineffective however because by not maintaining steady sugar levels and dehydrating, the quality of output they produce could suffer. Just by installing a vending machine and giving them quick and simple access to a wide range of drinks and snacks you could be offsetting a whole array of symptoms such as memory loss, inability to concentrate, sleepiness, slower processing and irritability.
Most employees note that they would be more likely to eat and drink regularly, essential for bodies’ to produce that much needed energy, if it was more readily to hand. Whether they need a strong coffee for a quick pick-me-up or a treat to motivate them back to work, Kafévend supplies a whole selection of vending machines from hot drinks machines to more specialised varieties such as the Flavia coffee machine, to help in the war against the afternoon dip.
Supplying over 4500 companies from Crawley to Leeds, Kafévend could have the vending machine you chose in your office within a week. There’s no need to worry about maintaining it with its simple to use application and should anything go wrong, they will have an engineer to you on average within 3½ hours. If on the rare occasion the problem can not be resolved, another machine will be brought in to replace it.
With brand-leading drinks and snacks available including Nescafe, Kenco, PG Tips, Starburst cold drinks, Suchard and Options chocolate and Knorr soups, especially good for warming the cockles on a cold British day, there’s sure to be something there to tempt your staff. Plus as part of their commitment to fair-trade, Kafévend also supply sustainable development coffee.

Fill Your Vending Machine For Fairtrade Fortnight
This week marks the start of Fairtrade Fortnight, the annual celebration of all things sustainable. Fairtrade Fortnight is from 25 February to 9 March, and it is your chance to promote Fairtrade where you live and work. The UK’s leading vending machine supplier, Kafévend, are proud participants of the Fairtrade initiative.
The new range of Sustainable Development Coffee from Kafévend displays a Fairtrade Mark, an independent certification which guarantees that disadvantaged producers are getting a better deal. All products carrying the Fairtrade Mark meet standards set by the international body Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International. This helps to improve the social and economic outlook for farming communities, as well as their access to education and medical care. It also protects the precious rainforest environment in which they work while providing great tasting coffee for consumers time and time again.
John Collins, managing director of Kafevend says: “Thousands of farmers benefit from Fairtrade, but many millions more could join them if it wasn’t for unjust trade rules hampering poorer countries’ attempts to trade out of poverty. When you buy Fairtrade products, you know that the farmer who grew your coffee or tea got a fair price for the crop, plus a little bit extra to help the community’s development. That’s why we’re urging all vending machine users to try a cup of fair-trade tea or coffee this week and next and help make a difference to communities around the world.”
Sales of sustainable coffee drinks in vending machines have increased by as much as 44% in recent years, indicating a growing appetite for great tasting hot drinks with a social conscience. The range of sustainable teas and coffees from Kafévend’s vending machines channel investment directly to farmers at origin. The scheme helps growers to improve production efficiency and bean quality to directly support surrounding communities.

Kafévend Reduces Carbon Footprint With Waste To Energy Scheme
Vending machine supplier Kafévend is becoming almost as well known for its green policies as for its great range of vending solutions. The latest addition to dozens of energy saving practises and recycling schemes now available from Kafévend and its vending machine drinks suppliers is ‘Waste To Energy’, an initiative launched by Mars Drinks UK for Flavia.
Converting used Flavia filterpacks into energy through the use of a dedicated energy plant, the sustainability scheme eliminates the need to send waste product to landfill. With the potential to power more than 10,000 homes for a year, used Flavia packs are collected and transported to a Waste-to-Energy plant ready to be turned into electricity that is fed into the national grid, reducing the need to use and rely on non-renewable fossil fuels.
John Collins, Managing Director of Kafévend has seen a number of go Green initiatives launched under his leadership. “Kafévend supplies more than 6000 vending machines across the country, something which we believe gives us a responsibility to provide schemes and options for the safe and environmental disposal of excess packaging and used materials.”
After enjoying great tasting coffee, the used FLAVIA filterpacks are easily stored in pink sacks. Although the waste to energy process does produce CO2, this greenhouse gas is twenty times less potent than methane released from landfill sites and the electricity only incinerator emit 40% less CO2 than the equivalent coal power station.
To sign up to the waste to energy scheme or learn more about Kafévend’s commitment to meeting environmental targets, visit http://www.kafevending.co.uk
